Abstract
The Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology (IEST), founded in 1953, is a multidisciplinary society serving members and the industries they represent through education and the development of recommended practices and standards. Its members are involved in the environmental sciences specifically as they pertain to areas of contamination control in electronics manufacturing and pharmaceutical processes. Members are also involved in the design, testing, and evaluation of commercial and military equipment and promotion of product reliability issues associated with commercial and military systems. IEST goals include acting as a resource for the creation of technical education programs and promoting educational material related to technical professional development. IEST hosts or participates in conferences throughout the year.
