ebXML (Electronic Business using eXtensible Markup Language), sponsored by UN/CEFACT and OASIS, is a modular suite of specifications intended to facilitate e-Business over the Internet. ebXML seeks to provide a standard method for exchanging business messages, conducting trading relationships, communicating data in common terms, and defining and registering business processes. Relying on the resources of OASIS and UN/CEFACT and collaborating with other initiatives and standards development organizations, ebXML develops, advances, and promotes technical specifications for an open ebXML infrastructure.
